What is it about?

Collage inspired by objects with cable

It’s all about collage! I am very passionate about it and would love to share with you tips I learned along the way. As a very time limited mum of three little girls my brain is constantly searching for easy doable assignments around the daily crazy live. You can expect non sense prompts on an irregular basis, written in a slightly incorrect English and pure passion for collage.

The rules are:

There are no rules! You are the boss. If you struggle with a decision, just try it out. If it’s not working you can easily exchange all parts. Take a picture, than try a different composition, different shape or colour. You even don’t need to glue the parts. Keep the snippets for future projects.

Start now!

Collage is the most creative and low barrier way to start an illustration. Don’t overthink it, just grab your paints, put colours on paper, turn the paper with the white side on top and cut a free shape. The leaves of Philodendron are a beautiful theme to start with (inspiration by Henri Matisse). Embrace the coincidence and trust the process. You will be surprised.

Which materials and supplies do I use?

  • cutting Matt A3

  • drawing broom (here is where the magic begins)

  • cutter - OLFA 300 9 mm blade ( I am not a scissors person, but it’s up to you, no judgement)

  • white acid free hot pressed paper 200g Hahnemühle/ Nostalgie ( you can get it in all kind of sizes and it’s not expensive in Germany)

  • ♥️ caran d’ache wax pastels neocolori II, oil pastels, soft pastels (sennelier and caran d’ache)

  • Lighting box A4

  • Transparent paper to protect the collage from dust

  • PVA glue

So what‘s next?

This platform is for you - the collage community, a safe space to connect and hang out together. I am giving you impulses and the frame, where you can bloom and thrive. You are the star!

The door is open, you are invited! Feel free to write me a note why are you here, what are your expectations, wishes, where are you on your creative journey right now?

Live Sessions for Paid Subscribers

  • Thursday 9.30 CEST (UTC+2:00)

  • Thursday 14:00 CEST (UTC +2:00)

I want to build a space, where we could meet at least two times a month for an hour long session, feel safe, inspired and work together in harmony. The Sessions won’t be recorded, you can ask whatever you want it all stays in the virtual room. Next to craft, or how to do collage, the themes I want to explore with you are patterns, landscape, portraits, composition, colours, perspective, recipes, architecture and maps. In my wildest dreams I imagine the group transforming into a strong community, which continues to meet regularly on its own terms.

Have a lovely day * Juliana
